Thanks to years of struggle, in 2016 civil unions were introduced<\/strong>. Although the latter grant many substantive rights to same-sex couples, they were made for gays and lesbians only<\/strong>\u00a0but they do not recognize their ability to be parents<\/strong>. The opponents of full equality have succeeded in obtaining not only a legal institution other than marriage, but also the removal of the article which would have directly attributed rights and protection to the children of homosexual families. In the intentions of the opponents of full equality, Civil Unions had to stop one step away from Marriage and be "an inferior institution for inferior families"<\/strong>. But the reality is different. Homosexual families, with or without children, bring with them the same desire for mutual care<\/strong>, commitment, dignity and projection into the future of all Italian families. Everywhere the unions celebrated to date have been perceived for what they are in people's hearts: marriages<\/strong>. Sometimes with children. So we ask the legislator: why not recognize this reality and heal the gap between reality and law<\/strong> with access to marriage and the recognition of a parenthood that already exists?<\/p>\n The objective of the #LoStessoS\u00ec campaign is to obtain full dignity and equality for gay and lesbian families and their children in the next legislature 2018-2023, through access to the same institution provided for heterosexual families and the recognition of gay and lesbian parenthood<\/strong>.<\/p>\n A medium-long term campaign that includes:<\/p>\nThe target<\/h3>\n
